Kennedy Martin, an emerging college volleyball player, looks up to her father, Ruvell Martin, a former NFL star, as a mentor and a supportive figure.

Since Kennedy picked up volleyball at a young age, her former football player and coach dad has been on rounds to ensure his daughter’s success.

Whether it be with cheers by attending her games or finding out opportunities for her- he has always been there for her.

Martin is one of four daughters of Ruvell and his wife, Michelle. Not only her dad but also her mom passionately supports her daughter’s career.

In fact, her mother was the one who signed her up for summer camp during her formative years.

Kennedy Martin is now a college volleyball hitter for the Flordia Gators- the year 2023 being her freshman year.

She aspires to become like women volleyball pillarstones: Kerri Walsh Jennings, Samantha Bricio, Misty May-Treanor, Jordan Larson, & Gabrielle Reece, to name a few.

The South Carolina native committed to the University of Florida in September 2019 and signed the letter of intent in November 2022.

Martin is a 2023 class of the Nation Ford High School, where she became the 2022 South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year.

Kennedy Martin Dad: Ruvell Martin Is A Former NFL Star

Kennedy’s father, Ruvell Martin (b. August 10, 1982), is a retired NFL wide receiver who played professionally from 2004 to 2012.

Even if his playing career journey didn’t result in a significant milestone, he was always his daughter’s best player.

An undrafted pick of the Chargers in 2004, Martin played with four other NFL teams: the Packers, Rams, Seahawks, and Bills.

Then, after his retirement, the 41-year-old former player ventured into real estate.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he has been serving as the CEO/owner of Costello Real Estate and Investments since March 2022. Previously, from 2014 to 2022, he was an agent based in South Carolina at the company.

Between 2020 and 2022, Ruvell also served as the coaching assistant for his former team, the Green Bay Packers.

The role came after his fellow teammate, Matt LaFleur, the Packers’ head coach, pursued him to take the coaching role.

Kennedy’s Is The Eldest Of Four Kids: Parents & Sisters

Kennedy Martin was born on May 15, 2005, in Fort Mill, South Carolina, to Ruvell Martin and his wife, Michelle Martin.

Her parents were college sweethearts who met at Saginaw Valley State University. Even if they attended the same high school, Muskegon Catholic Central High School, it was only at college that they reportedly began dating.

Martin’s mother, Michelle, born on August 25, 1989, works as a real estate agent at Costello Real Estate and Investments.

As of 2024, Kennedy is 18 years old. She is the eldest of four children and grew up with three younger sisters, but only two of her sisters are known, Jumana and Lila.

Her sister, Jumana, plays volleyball for the girls’ varsity team at Nation Ford High School, where she is a class of 2025. She also plays for the Carolina Union Volleyball Club.

In August 2023, Jumana committed to the College of Charleston.

Kenny’s other sister, Lila, is also into volleyball and plays at Nation Ford High School (class of 2028).
